Here is the brief history
of MARTI animation ltd.:
Murat Erkorkmaz Art Center
The first company to
work as a base for Ali Murat Erkorkmaz. He has started this one right after
he had graduated from the university. Many talented people started their career
here where he produced his early animations and commercials as well as the
school magazines 'Open the Sesame'. Before he moved to Bahrain, he published
the DUNYA CHILD newspaper from this office. With the lab he put together,
he served as a 16mm color lab for the middle east and Europe. After the crisis
that stopped all the business in the late 70's Turkey, he closed down this
company and went to Bahrain.
Promoseven / Arabation / Promovision
After he moved to
Bahrain in 1979, he became a partner of Fortune Promoseven where he formed
the first Arabian Animation company, Arabation and then later on, headed Promovision,
a division of Fortune Promoseven that produced live action films for the middle
east. He stayed in Bahrain for almost 5 years where he made the animations
for the Arabic version of the 'Sesame Street', 'Eftah Ya Semsem'. He produced
many Arabic and English TV series and features for the region. With 'Bahrain,
Bahrain', he received a silver medal from the Amir of Bahrain. He also formed
a foundation for the Disabled Arabic Children and worked on educating children
in the region. Through this office, he opened many branches to produce animation,
such as Sri Lanka, India, Kuwait and Egypt. He moved back to Turkey by the
end of 1984.
When he moved back
to Turkey, he formed ARTNET S.A. and speeded up his works. Besides the animation,
he opened an art gallery. He brought in the first graphic computers and started
writing software. Through this studio, he performed most of his works. Besides
many series for the television, he published books, magazines and wrote software.
He started his works for the world market and receieved many awards as ARTNET
S.A.. His signature expands from the celebrations of 23rd of April in the
United Nations, to the inter-school activities. While entering the year 2000,
he closed down ARTNET S.A. to form a better organized MARTI.
By the beginning of
2000, he formed MARTI for a better oraganization of producing of animated
cartoons and software. He moved to a wider office that is technically more
developed. From here, he started producing TV series and feature animation
as well as high level artificial intelligence software for the world market.
After the initial step
into the world market, he formed the Cartuna Corporation to handle his productions
in the global market and produce series in connection with the new world.
He made partners with Greg Barr, his friend and business associate from years
back, in Bahrain and Egypt. 'The Cartuna Show' was the first series released
from this company.
It was unavoidable
to form a company in the heart of the film and cinema industry and ANIVENTURE
was established for this reason. Dana Walker and Greg Barr were his two partners
in this company whose main target was marketing the real time animation software
written by himself. The works of this company is practised in full speed,
penetrating the software industry, forming bonds with the major names and
companies of the world and preparing a grand project for the near future.
As an extension of
the MARTI animation ltd. in Turkey, MARTI US was formed but however, after
forming the Aniventure, the use of this company was obsolete therefore it
was closed down.
